This privacy policy discloses the privacy practices for Tristan Jarrett and our website (tristanjarrett.com) and applications (Apron, Calio, ClipBoardy, Futhark, Rolls & Zen). This privacy policy applies solely to information collected by this website and our applications. Not every service described below is used by every app, and the section on Calio sets out where that app differs.
Information Collection and Use
We only collect information that you voluntarily provide to us through our website contact form or through our mobile applications. This information may include your name, email address, and any other information you choose to provide us in your message or in your use of the mobile applications. We will use this information solely for the purpose of responding to your inquiries or providing you with the requested services through our mobile applications.

If you decline analytics cookies, Google Analytics will not load.

We use Vercel Analytics to understand overall site traffic and performance. Vercel Analytics is used alongside our hosting setup and is designed to work without cookies.
We use Google ReCaptcha to prevent spam and abuse on our website contact form. Firebase Services
Some of our applications integrate Firebase services provided by Google. These services include Firebase Firestore (for database storage), Firebase Storage (for file storage), Firebase Authentication (for user authentication), Firebase Crashlytics (for crash reporting), and other default Firebase tools. These services may collect and process information such as your device type, IP address, and usage data. Firebase Authentication may also collect and store information such as your email address and any other data necessary for login or account management.
Firebase Crashlytics is used to monitor app performance and detect errors or crashes. This service collects crash data, device information, and other diagnostic data to help us improve the reliability of our applications.

Calio
Calio works differently from our other apps, and the sections above on advertising and Firebase do not apply to it. Calio has no user accounts, shows no ads, and carries no analytics or advertising SDKs. Everything you log is stored on your device, and we never receive your food diary.
If iCloud is enabled, Calio uses Apple CloudKit to sync your diary into your own private CloudKit database, tied to your Apple Account, which we have no access to and no way to read. With your permission, Calio reads activity, workouts, water, height, and weight from Apple Health and writes back the foods, water, and weights you choose to log; this is read and written on your device and is never sent to us. The camera is used only to scan food barcodes, and frames are not stored or uploaded.
When you search for a food or scan a barcode, the search term or barcode number is sent to the Calio food service, which returns nutrition data drawn from public sources including USDA FoodData Central and Open Food Facts. That service keeps a record for each installation of the app, holding an anonymous installation identifier, the Apple App Attest key and receipt that prove the request came from a genuine copy of Calio, a request counter, and the times the installation was first and last seen. This lets us rate-limit abuse, and means requests can be associated with an installation of the app, not with a name, an email, an account, or your diary. Nothing you log is sent to this service.

Preferences Stored In Your Browser
We store a small amount of information in your browser to remember your theme preference and your analytics consent choice. This helps the site respect your settings across visits.
Security
We take appropriate security measures to protect your personal information from unauthorised access, alteration, or disclosure. However, no method of transmission over the internet or electronic storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.
